2015

What a year this has been! 2015 was one of the best years of my life. A year full of new adventures, tears (both happy and sad), lots of traveling, and most importantly motherhood.

After much deliberation I decided not to return to teaching after having Avery in December. I just couldn’t fathom leaving my sweet girl and I’m so thankful Kyle supported me in that decision. This year has revolved around Avery and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. She has brought immense joy and fulfillment in my life. She’s more than I ever dreamed of and is such a ray of sunshine. I know in my soul that she has such a precious purpose in this world and I can’t wait to see how God uses her! I pray daily that she would always seek His wisdom and that she be an instrument to bring praise to Gods name. I pray that she seek only His approval in life and that as her mother I will be able to support her in any way she could need! What an honor I have to be her mother and I daily seek Gods guidance in the decisions I make for Avery. She has had her own personality from the day she was born and I hope I can always foster that and not hinder it.

We have had the opportunity this year to travel to numerous places with Kyle. This year we traveled to:

  • Tampa, FL (a few times!)

  • Clearwater, FL

  • Orlando, FL

  • Auburn, AL

  • Columbia, MO

  • Nashville, TN

  • Tucson, AZ
  • Phoenix, AZ

Kyle and I have also had a few getaways to NYC and Dallas. We traveled to NYC for Kyle’s birthday in May and saw Alladin and Matilda on Broadway. In Dallas we attended the Texas A&M/Razorback game and attended first Dallas Cowboys game.

At the end of August we lost our sweet Abby to her battle with cancer. Our hearts broke as we said goodbye to a member of our family and one of the best dogs we’ve ever known. I’m so thankful Avery got to meet her and that I will be able to think back on many newborn memories of Avery and also have Abby in them.

We celebrated all of Avery’s first holidays as well as her first birthday! We got to create so many sweet memories with her and share them with family and friends.

We have had such a very blessed year. I can’t wait to see what 2016 has in store for our sweet family!
